US Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has expelled a crying baby from a campaign rally following the child’s interruptions during his speech.
The move was prompted as Turmp was delivering a speech at a rally in Loudon County in the US state of Virginia on Tuesday.
“Don’t worry about that baby – I love babies,” the Republican candidate initially said to the mother of a baby that had started crying during his address.
“I love babies. I hear that baby crying, I like it. What a baby, what a beautiful baby. Don’t worry, don’t worry. The mom’s running around, like, don’t worry about it, you know? It’s young and beautiful and healthy and that’s what we want,” he added.
With the baby continuing to cry and cause more interruptions, the New York businessman was infuriated by his wails and gestured to have the crying infant removed from the rally.
“Actually, I was only kidding – you can get the baby out of here,” Trump said firmly.
“That’s all right, don’t worry. I think she really believed me that I love having a baby crying while I’m speaking. That’s OK. People don’t understand. That’s OK,” he concluded.
Reports said the disruption came after about a dozen protesters were forced to leave the Virginia Republican rally as the group had started chanting “Hillary,” in support of the real estate mogul’s Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton.
Holding banners and placards, some protesters were wearing T-shirts that read “Islam means peace.”
The New York businessman's campaign has been marred by his disparaging remarks against minorities in the US. His comments include a call to ban all Muslims from coming to America as well as forced deportation of Mexican migrants by building a long wall along the US-Mexico border.
He has also sought for a database to track Muslims across the United States and said that the US would have "absolutely no choice" but to close down mosques.
Trump’s proposal has been condemned by Muslim and human rights groups as well as his Democratic rivals and many of his Republican proponents who describe the proposal as divisive, counterproductive and contrary to American values.

At first the Republican presidential nominee seemed unperturbed by the interruption as he worked his way through his stump speech on America's trade imbalances with China, Mexico and other nations.
"Don't worry about that baby," Trump said from the podium as the child wailed. "I love babies! I love babies. I hear that baby crying - I like it! What a baby, what a beautiful baby."
"Don't worry, don't worry," he reassured the audience in an Ashburn, Virginia high school auditorium. "The mum's running around like, 'Don't worry about it,' you know."
"It's young and beautiful and healthy, and that's what we want," he said.
"Actually I was only kidding," he said, turning his back to the woman. "You can get the baby out of here."In time, however, the tyke pushed Trump off his game when he returned to China-bashing and said: "They have ripped us to shreds - ripped us absolutely to shreds!"
"That's alright. Don't worry," he reassured her as she gathered her things - and her child - and made her exit.
"I think she really believed me that I love having a baby crying while I'm speaking!" Trump joked with the crowd.
"That's okay. People don't understand. That's okay."
Trump had a less than picture-perfect moment three days ago with two babies, one in each arm, after a Colorado Springs, Colorado rally.
As he posed for photos, one of the infants broke into tears.
