A current trend is that among the new X-Men: Apocalypse cast rumored to join are Sophie Turner (Barely Lethal), Saoirse Ronan (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Elle Fanning (Maleficent), and Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) as Jean Grey, according to Coming Soon. Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass 2) was allegedly offered the role, but had to turn it down due to scheduling conflicts. Rumored to play Cyclops are Timothee Chalamet (Interstellar), Ben Hardy (EastEnders), Charlie Rowe (Red Band Society), Taron Edgerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service), Jamie Blackley (Snow White and the Huntsman), and Tye Sheridan (Mud). Sheridan is rumored to be the top pick for the film. Storm has a shorter list of rumored actresses, states Latino Review. Zendaya Coleman (KC Undercover) and Alexandra Shipp (Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B) may take up the role of the African royalty with weather control.
It is possible that with these characters just joining the team, we’ll see something similar to First Class, as Xavier trains the fan-favorite mutants to control their powers. Another possibility for the X-Men: Apocalypse
story is that Jean Grey, Cyclops, Storm, and Gambit will all end up
becoming the Four Horsemen, since they’re just joining the team and En Sabah Nur (Oscar Isaac) may decide to threaten Xavier with his own recruits.
