Today’s discussion should frighten anyone of us living in sin and cause us to urgently run to Jesus for salvation because of the prediction of the destruction that would come upon people who reject the Lord. Worse still, the unrepentant would be surrendered into the hands of foolish shepherds who will not care for them but devour them. This is a timely counsel for all who have not truly given their lives to Jesus Christ. And indeed for all Church goers who are not born again.
We must search our hearts to be sure that we are in Christ, so that we will not be like those who claim to be God’s children but did not know they are in bondage. If we must be fed when hungry, rescued from dying or perishing helplessly, protected from devouring one another, and delivered from the hands of foolish shepherds that would devour us, Jesus is the answer! God forbids us to continue in sin; otherwise He would withhold His grace from sin. It is in this light that we have to refrain from sin and do that which is considered right through the help of the Holy Spirit of God.
