Apple Continues Covert Operations for iPad Mini Release

The hearts of apple geeks everywhere today were set aflutter as new rumors and rumblings about the upcoming smaller iPad hit the internet. Treated with the likes of the script of the next Hunger Games movie or the location of Brad and Angelina’s nuptials, details about the look, name and price of the device are being kept tightly under wraps.
Size & Shape
As far as the physical characteristics of the new mini iPad go, all signs point to a 7.85-inch device to compete with Google Nexus 7 and other similarly-sized products. As to other details, a number of sources seem to indicate the following: 1024×768 pixel resolution, an aspect ratio of roughly 1.5, front and rear cameras, and 3G support.
Unlike the soon-to-arrive iPhone 5, little, if anything, has been leaked about the smaller-sized iPad. Images of supposed mini iPad cases emerged online a few weeks ago but were quickly taken down, increasing speculation. Other images of shells have also popped up, but, as always, nothing is confirmed.
Width & Height
One big issue up for debate is that of the shell ratio vs. the display ratio. Generally, the ratio of the iPad as a whole has been quite similar to that of the display itself, allowing for a wide band around all sides of the display that renders the device comfortable and easy to hold. However, given that the smaller iPad will likely be much thinner and lighter than the original, it is quite possible that the display ration will be 4:3
