As the Princess Olusola Sulayman's led administration bowed out from the FIDA Oyo State Executive Council, the mantle of leadership has been passed on to Mrs Mubowale Adelabu.
The new Oyo State FIDA Secretary, Mrs Fatima Hammed-Gbadamosi made this known in a statement on Friday in Ibadan.
Hammed-Gbadamosi said Adelabu had completed her three years for each term of service.
According to her, Sulayman's tenure beautifully ended on Dec. 12, after the association's third Annual General Meeting and swearing in of the newly elected executives, led by Adelabu.
She noted that the association's 2024 Week was celebrated recently with the theme "Giving back to the society".
"During the FIDA week 2024, the members of FIDA Oyo State visited Saki and its environs for sensitisation. The first point of call was the palace of the Okere of Saki; H.R.M Oba Khalid Olabisi where they were received warmly by the Okere in council and heads of markets.
"The sensitisation was taken to a few markets in Saki, Oyo State.
"The FIDA Oyo State also gave back to the society through its visit and donations to the Jesus Kids orphanage at Academy/Adex area, Iwo road, Ibadan where they met children suffering from Cerebral Palsy and Syndromes," she said.
According to Hammed-Gbadamosi, during the three cause meal dinner, among other exciting activities, the former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice Oyo State, Mr Mutalubi Ojo, (SAN) represented Senator Sharafadeen Alli.
Alli likened the theme of the programme to the way and manner FIDA Oyo State discharges its objectives of protecting and preserving rights of women and children in the society.
In his speech, Mr Shina Ogungbade, (SAN), (AG and Commissioner for Justice, Ogun State) said "women need to be further alerted to the fact that they are the fore front of the fight of the protection against minors from sexual predators.
"Lastly it is not limited to only the female child, sadly too, male children are also abused". (NAN)
