Janna Health Foundation (JHF) has been recognized with the prestigious National Award for its exceptional contributions to the fight against tuberculosis (TB) in Nigeria. The honor was presented during the 2024 National TB Conference held in Abuja on Friday, December 13.
The conference, organized by Stop TB Partnership Nigeria and the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Program (NTBLCP), gathered stakeholders from various sectors to discuss strategies for TB control and foster collaboration towards eliminating the disease in the country. The event featured plenary sessions, panel discussions, and presentations on best practices and innovations in TB management.
JHF’s recognition highlights its unwavering commitment to improving access to healthcare services and providing vital information on TB prevention and treatment. The foundation has played a significant role in improving community livelihoods, promoting maternal and child health, and addressing the socio-economic challenges associated with TB, HIV, and leprosy.
One of JHF’s notable achievements was its participation in the World TB Day commemoration in Adamawa State. During the event, the organization conducted outreach programs, screened over 700 individuals, and successfully identified 15 TB cases, showcasing its proactive approach to tackling the disease.
The National TB Conference emphasized the importance of collaboration, research, and innovation in TB control—values that align closely with JHF’s mission. The organization’s efforts have significantly contributed to reducing the prevalence of TB and raising awareness in underserved communities.
Receiving the National Award marks a significant milestone for JHF, reaffirming its role as a leader in public health initiatives in Nigeria. The foundation views this recognition as a call to further action and a motivation to strengthen partnerships with other stakeholders in the ongoing fight against TB.
