The National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran (NOCIRI) and the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to further expand cooperation in various sports.
During a ceremony on the sidelines of the 69th Executive Board Meeting of Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in the northern Japanese city of Sapporo on Tuesday, NOCIRI President Kioumars Hashemi and his Kazakh counterpart Timur Kulibayev exchanged viewpoints on the promotion of Tehran-Astana sports relationship and signed an agreement.
The MoU calls for all-out efforts from Iranian and Kazakh authorities to cement sportive relations between the two neighboring countries. It also demands the exchange of sports delegations, experts and trainers.
The accord further asks for the participation of Iranian and Kazakh sports teams in the two countries’ international tournaments, and organization of joint training camps.
Additionally, the Iranian and Kazakh Olympic committees agreed to exchange information in the fields of sports, sports medicine and anti-doping programs.
