The Rolling Stones have asked presumptive Republican US presidential nominee Donald Trump to stop playing their songs at his campaign events.
After effectively sealing the Republican nomination, Trump played the Stones hitStart Me Up as he left the stage following a victory speech.
However, the British rock band said in a statement today: "The Rolling Stones have never given permission to the Trump campaign to use their songs and have requested that they cease all use immediately."
Trump is known to be a fan of the Stones, and has previously played You Can't Always Get What You Want, Sympathy for the Devil and Brown Sugar at campaign events.
It is not the first time the controversial presidential candidate has been banned from playing songs.
"Elton's music has not been requested for use in any official capacity by Donald Trump. Any use of his music should not be seen as an endorsement of Donald Trump by Elton," a publicist for the British singer said.Sir Elton John has also said that Trump cannot use his hits on the campaign trail.
Trump had regularly playedRocket Man and Tiny Dancer at rallies.
He has said he would like Sir Elton to perform at his inauguration, should he win November's general election.
Adele, REM and Neil Young have all also said Trump should not use their songs.
