Think former Prime Ministers don't surf? This one does.
After turning up on Instagram picking up a fridge for his wife, Tony Abbott has sneaked his way into social media again, this time by dropping in on a girl's wave in Queensland.
Surfer Ivy Thomas, 17, said Mr Abbott smiled at her to acknowledge he was dropping in, but she didn't mind sharing.
She was just "secretly glad he wasn't wearing the budgie smugglers". Mr Abbott has been known to wear tight-fitting Speedos to the beach.
Ms Thomas said Mr Abbott was in the water with a group, including his daughter, where he was calling out waves for everybody and "was not a bad surfer".
